Position Summary
The Clinical Manager plays a critical leadership role in overseeing day-to-day clinical operations within the FQHC setting. This position ensures safe, efficient, and high-quality patient-centered care while maintaining compliance with federal, state, and organizational regulations. The Clinical Manager supervises nursing and clinical support staff—including licensed nurses, medical assistants (MAs), and ancillary personnel—while collaborating with providers, administrative staff, and leadership to improve workflows, outcomes, and patient satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities
Clinical Operations
Supervise and coordinate clinical support workflows across primary care, pediatrics, behavioral health, and specialty services.
Manage staffing assignments, clinic flow, and back-office operations to ensure timely, efficient patient care.
Oversee ordering and maintenance of clinical stock, ensuring adequate supplies and cost-effective management.
Direct vaccine program management, including ordering, storage, temperature monitoring, documentation, and compliance with state and federal guidelines.
Develop, implement, and maintain clinical protocols, procedures, and standing orders under the direction of clinical leadership.
Ensure adherence to infection control, safety, and quality assurance (QA) standards.
Leadership & Staff Supervision
Provide direct supervision, mentorship, and performance evaluations for nursing staff, MAs, and other clinical personnel.
Conduct regular team huddles, training, and competency assessments to ensure high-quality performance.
Foster a positive, collaborative, and patient-centered work environment.
Work closely with the CMO to meet quality metrics, including UDS (Uniform Data System) reporting and performance goals.
Partner with the CMO to design and implement efficient and value-based clinical workflows that support population health, payer initiatives, and overall clinic performance.
Patient Care
Provide nursing care within scope of licensure, supporting patient visits and care delivery as needed.
Administer immunizations, medications, vital signs, and patient education.
Support chronic disease management, preventive care initiatives, and population health goals.
Act as a clinical resource for staff in managing complex patient concerns.
Compliance & Quality Improvement
Ensure compliance with FQHC standards, HRSA requirements, HIPAA, OSHA, CLIA, and state licensure regulations.
Work closely with the CMO to track and monitor quality metrics, compile monthly reporting requirements.
Hold staff accountable for meeting benchmarks and completing required reporting, ensuring corrective actions are implemented when needed.
Assist with quality improvement projects, including chart audits, patient satisfaction follow-up, and workflow enhancements.
Maintain accurate and timely documentation within the EHR system, ensuring alignment with UDS and value-based care reporting.
Qualifications
Education & Licensure
Current, unrestricted nursing license (LPN or RN) in the state of practice required.
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Nursing preferred.
Experience
Minimum of 3 years of supervisory or leadership experience in a healthcare setting, preferably within an FQHC or community health environment.
Experience with clinical operations, vaccine management, and supply oversight strongly preferred.
Proficiency with EHR systems and knowledge of clinical workflow optimization.
Skills and Competencies

Physical and Work Environment Requirements
Frequent standing, walking, and moving between exam rooms and workstations.
Ability to lift and move medical supplies or equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
Work in a busy clinical environment with potential exposure to patients, staff, and interruptions.
Occasional travel to other clinic sites may be required to provide oversight, support, and training.
