Position Summary

The clinical nurse (RN/LPN) provides essential nursing care and support within a clinical setting, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centered care. The clinical nurse works under the supervision of clinical manager or physicians, performing a variety of clinical tasks, including administering medications, monitoring patient health, and supporting patient education.

Key Responsibilities


Direct Patient Care

  • Provide compassionate and competent care to patients, including monitoring vital signs and documenting health status.

  • Administer prescribed medications and treatments, ensuring compliance with established protocols.

  • Assist with wound care, dressing changes, and other clinical procedures as directed by an RN or physician.

  • Prepare patients for examinations and assist providers during exams.

Patient Education and Support

  • Educate patients and families on treatment plans, medications, and preventive care.

  • Answer patient questions and address concerns with clarity and empathy.

  • Promote healthy lifestyles by providing guidance on nutrition, exercise, and disease prevention.

Documentation and Compliance

  • Accurately document patient information, treatments, and progress in electronic health records (EHR).

  • Maintain compliance with organizational policies, HIPAA, and state and federal regulations.

  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care outcomes.

Team Collaboration

  • Work collaboratively with the healthcare team, including RNs, physicians, and medical assistants.

  • Communicate effectively with team members to coordinate care and share critical information.

  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to care planning and problem-solving efforts.

Clinical Support

  • Ensure exam rooms are clean, stocked, and prepared for patient care.

  • Collect and prepare lab specimens for processing.

  • Perform basic diagnostic tests, such as EKGs and blood glucose monitoring.


Qualifications


Education and Licensure

  • Graduate of an accredited LPN/RN program (required).

  • Current and valid state LPN/RN license (required).

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (required).

Experience

  • Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience in a healthcare setting (preferred).

  • Experience with electronic health records (EHR) systems (preferred).

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong clinical and critical thinking skills.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to multitask and remain organized in a fast-paced environment.

  • Proficiency in medical equipment operation and standard nursing practices.
